Belinga mining project: environmental and social impact assessment of the railway and transmission line route between the mine and the port (2008 - ongoing)
The two linear components of the project – the railway line and the transmission line – will be built within the same corridor to link the mine with the port facilities. The use of a common corridor is an efficient way of minimising environmental and social impacts.

Z Towers, Riga, Latvia (2006 – 2009)
This multi-functional development is situated in a prime location near the historical town centre of Riga. The building will host a high-standard hotel, including several restaurants, office spaces, apartments and a wide range of shopping facilities.

Kárahnjúkar hydropower scheme, Iceland (2002 – 2009)
Iceland’s national power company Landsvirkjun would like to provide electricity to an aluminium plant by harnessing the potential of the two rivers Jökulsá á Dal (stage 1) and Jökulsá í Fljótsdal (stage 2).

Kunming Zhangjiuhe river water diversion and water supply, China (2001 – 2007)
Kunming is the political and economic centre of Yunnan Province in the south-west of China. It is one of 14 cities in China that are severely short of water. In order to solve the supply problem and allow for future development of the local society and economy, the “Kunming Zhangjiuhe River Water Diversion and Water Supply Project” was started.

Melamchi water diversion scheme, Central Nepal (2008 – 2012)
Continuous population growth and new settlements close to Nepal’s capital result in increasing potable water shortage for the Kathmandu Valley and its surrounding regions. Although the seasonal monsoon rainfall generally provides a huge amount of freshwater collected from the High Himalayas, water distribution has become difficult due to the lack of water transfer and treatment facilities.

Shiraz metro tunnel, Fars Province, Iran (2004 – 2006)
The southern Iranian city of Shiraz has around 1.2 million inhabitants. Each year, the population is growing by 2.2 %, and increases in vehicular traffic have lead to the construction of a metro.

Tohid road tunnel, Tehran, Iran (2008 – 2009)
The Tehran Municipality Construction and Civil Engineering Organisation had the task to connect the Chamran and Navab expressways and complete the expressway from the north to the south of Tehran. They also planned to construct the Tohid road tunnel as an inner-city twin tube tunnel with a length of 1.98 km and two ramps to the north and south with a total length of 840 m.
