For more than 60 years, our engineers have applied their knowledge and experience to fulfil highly demanding tasks in underground projects. We tackle problems systematically and with a solution-oriented approach. Efficiency, quality, on-time delivery and security are essential in our work.


Pöyry has made important contributions to the successful completion of various underground projects of the traffic and energy supplies industries in Switzerland already under its former name, Electrowatt (Gotthard Street Tunnel, San Bernardino Tunnel, Seelisberg, Milchbuck and Gubrist Tunnels, Vereina Tunnel).

The company is currently working on numerous tunnelling and underground projects (Gotthard Base Tunnel, Islisberg Tunnel, Zurich Western Bypass Road, Nant de Drance Pumped Storage Scheme etc.).
